Head of Civil Service of the Federation, Dr Folasade Yemi-Esan
The Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) has clinched four medals at the just concluded 41st edition of the Federation of Public Service Games held in Jos, Plateau State.
Olayinka Oghai won a silver medal in the ayoo female category, while Abubakar Gusau won a bronze medal in the badminton male category.
Other CAC medalists are Bukar Abubukar and Glory Essien, who clinched bronze in squash mixed doubles, and Umar Farouq, who won a bronze medal in swimming.
According to the Media Head, Rasheed Mahe, the 41st edition of the Federation of Public Service Games (FEPSGA-Jos 2022) was declared open on December 16, 2022, with a call on participants to ensure free and fair competition and also to be good ambassadors of their respective organizations.
The Head of Civil Service of the Federation, Dr Folasade Yemi-Esan, gave the charge while speaking at the Rwang Pam Township Stadium, Jos, Plateau State.
Yemi-Esan, who stressed the importance of games for ensuring mental alertness, building relationships, and engendering competition amongst participants, urged them to respect the rules of the game.
Represented by Mrs. Oguntade, a Deputy Director in her office, the HOS used the forum to appreciate the support and cooperation of the Plateau State government towards hosting the fiesta at very short notice.
Earlier, the National President of FEPSGA, Comrade Aloku Amaebi, applauded the enthusiasm of contingents despite the sudden change of venue.
Amaebi therefore enjoined them to ensure rancour-free competition and build relationships in the spirit of sportsmanship.
Other speakers at the opening ceremony included the representative of Plateau State Governor, Simon Bako Lalong.
Highlights of the event included a match where trophies were awarded for the overall 1st position in highest attendance won by the Federal Ministry of Works and Housing, the 2nd position won by the Federal Ministry of Interior, and the 3rd position won by the Federal Ministry of Education.
The Commission was represented by 58 contingents under the leadership of Glory Essien, Deputy Director and Head Budget, Planning, Research, and Statistics (BPRS).
