All the 16 member countries of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) are expected to participate in the forthcoming 36th Kano International Trade Fair.
The Fair is scheduled to hold between November 18 and December 2.
Alhaji Aliyu Muhammad, the Acting Director-General, Kano Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture, disclosed this in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Kano on Monday.
According to Muhammad, a number of participants from within the country are also expected to participate in the Fair.
Already, he said, five countries from the ECOWAS member states, Niger Republic, Togo, Ghana, Chad Republic and Senegal had arrived in Kano for the Fair.
He said major manufacturers and traders from within and outside the country were expected to attend the Fair.
“We are also expecting many companies from other countries.”
According to him, the Fair will create an atmosphere that is conducive for joint venture projects in all economic sectors between Nigeria and other countries.
He said the fair was also expected to provide a channel through which governments of the participating countries would showcase their policies and investment opportunities as they affected international business and cooperation.
The director-general also said that the Fair would give participants the opportunity to showcase their latest products and services as well as explore new trade opportunities. (NAN)
