Celebrated native doctor’s role interpreter in Yoruba movies, Adewale Alebiosu, who embraced playing thebabalawospart in most productions, has opened up at last, revealing that reciting those incantations really had serious and terrifying effects on him whenever he was asleep and in real life too.

In a recent interview with BBC Yoruba, Alebiosu confessed that despite the fact he did his paid job purely as a professional, without thinking of any adverse effect, “I still suffered the fate of sleeping most times, seeing funny looking human figures who suddenly turn to goats, attacking and biting me seriously forthe fun of it. Imagine!”

He lamented that such a role which shot him into focus had also turned around, giving him nightmarish moments.

“It was actually funny that I never gave a thought to the possible repercussions of this regular role, until I started to have these funny experiences,” he remembered, worriedly.

The actor who, no doubt, must have become the idols of most aspiring actors, warned young actors who must have been eyeing such strange roles to brace up for its possible repercussions, maintaining that their only armour against such satanic encounter was to ward them off through serious and regular prayers.

“I have to alert them, because they are young and plain-minded children who must be told plainly what certain roles in movies entail. However, this alert does not save the situation. The only saving grace is regular and serious prayers,” he concluded.
