Aviation Minister of State Hadi Sirika assumes office, promises to reform sector

The Honourable Minister of State for Aviation, Senator Hadi Sirika assumed office on Wednesday with a pledge to make a change in the aviation sector in pursuance of President Muhammad Buhari’s Change Agenda.

The Minister, while addressing the Management staff, reiterated Mr President’s commitment in moving the nation’s economy forward and considering the unique nature of the Aviation industry, will be a huge disaster if his expectations from the industry were not achieved. For that, he said he will not leave any stone unturned.

The minister said that his tenure in the office will have a ‘Zero tolerance for Errors and Corruption,’ but that he is ready to take constructive ideas and initiative from everyone around him. He added that there would be no protocol or bottleneck working with him.

Senator Hadi Sirika expressed the belief that his sojourn in aviation sector would be successful as he is not new to the sector, in which he said, he has seasoned professionals who know their onions.

Earlier on, the outgoing permanent secretary of aviation ministry, Hajiya Binta Bello, who led the management and staff of the ministry to welcome the minister of state for Aviation, said she has extreme confidence that Hadi Sirika is going to be successful in the discharge of his duty as he has been a part of the sector.

Hajiya Binta pledged the cooperation and support of the management and staff of the ministry to the minister.

Hadi Sirika, aside being a retired Pilot, was also a member of the Committee on Aviation in the 7th Senate of Federal Republic.
