Imo Governor, Owelle Rochas Okorocha, has rated the state as the safest and haven for investors.
The governor stated this when the Assistant Inspector-General of Police (AIG) in charge of Zone 9 Umuahia, Alhaji Tambari Yabo Mohammed, paid him a courtesy visit at the Government House Owerri.
Okorocha pointed out that crimes such as kidnapping and armed robbery have drastically reduced in the state. He attributed this to the co-operation of the police, the army, and other security agencies.
The governor commended the state Police Commissioner, Alhaji Kastina Mohammed, for his efforts to tackle security challenges in the state. He also commended the AIG for being firm during the 2011 governorship election, adding that his professional conduct contributed to his becoming Governor of Imo State.
Earlier,theAIG had applauded the efforts of Governor Okorocha in assisting the Police Command in the fight against crime. He suggested for the establishment of Special Trust Fund in the south-eastern states to enable the police fight crime in the zone.
