The Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Mr Mudashiru Obasa, on Tuesday urged German companies to invest in Lagos State to further strengthen the bilateral relationship between Nigeria and Germany.
The Speaker made the appeal while receiving the Consular General of Germany in Nigeria, Mr Ingo Herbert, who paid courtesy visit to the Lagos Assembly.
Obasa, who assured the visitor of an investment-friendly environment, said that the Assembly would continue to make laws for a secure environment.
According to him, the interest of Germany in our country cannot be undermined.
“I want to urge you to bring your people to our country, especially Lagos to come and invest.
“We are assuring you of security of lives and property.”
The speaker explained that the visit of the Consular General was coming at the right time.
Earlier, Herbert, who was accompanied by his Deputy, Mr Santa Di Pasquale, assured the speaker of his country's readiness to invest in Lagos.
Herbert said that Nigeria and Germany share similar characteristics in terms of federal structure.
The envoy explained that Germany had renewed her interest in Nigeria since the new administration came on board in May. (NAN)
