Director-General, National Productivity Center (NPC), Dr Kashim Akor, has congratulated Prince Abubakar Audu University for emerging the winner of this year’s NUGA Cup, having beaten Federal University, Oye-Ekiti, 3-1.
Dr Kashim Akor, in a media chat in Abuja on Saturday, September 25, 2022, lauded the management of the university under the leadership of Professor Marietu Ohunene Tenuche for breaking the decades record of winning NUGA games by a state university.
The Director-General said that having won the pioneer NUGA Cup by the state university since the inception of the university games, showed the determination of the leadership not only to excel in academics, characters of the students but also in sports and extra-curricular activities.
He urged the winners to sustain the tempo to retain the cup in next year’s competition, saying the record-breaking victory deserved rewards from well-meaning Kogites, State Government and the private sector.
Dr Kashim Akor promised to extend more support in the area of sports and it's development in the state university, tertiary institutions in the state, as well as the primary and secondary school levels.
He congratulated the Kogi State Government for the landmark record, while urging the authorities to invest more in sports development.
