Peter Obi's lookalike at Saturday's Jos Mega Rally
A man with the resemblance of Mr. Peter Obi, the Presidential Candidate of Labour Party for the 2023 Nigerian elections, was the centre of attraction yesterday, Saturday, September 18, 2022, when he turned up for the Plateau Mega Rally/Fitness Walk and one-million-man-march for Obi.
Dressed in a white T-Shirt and with a bag hung on his shoulders, the middle-aged man flashed an Obi-like smile as he waved a Labour Party flag and marched along with others along the major roads of the state capital, Jos.
The man, whose name could not be ascertained, instantly drew people to himself as they hailed and happily took selfies with him.
The rally attended by a massive crowd caused gridlock on major roads in the famed Tin City.
Another of the highlights of the rally which started with prayers at the Rwang Pam Township Stadium was the address by Prophet Isa El-Buba of the Evangelical Bible Outreach Ministries International (EBOMI). Prophet El-Buba urged Nigerians to look beyond party politics and elect credible leaders in 2023. Warning Nigerian not to sell their votes, the clergyman said he was convinced that Peter Obi and his running mate, Senator Yusuf Baba-Ahmed, are the right men for the job, adding that Obi’s candidature has restored hope to the common man.
Declaring the event open, Rev. Haruna Maidoki, representing the Coalition for Better and Brighter Nigeria, noted that the group has been going to the length and breadth of the country soliciting for prayer, and unity as goodness can has come to stay and give the citizens the much-needed good governance.
