Presidential Candidate of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), Professor Peter Umeadi, has said that personal interest in governance is the bane of Nigerian nation.
Prof. said this when he paid a thank-you-visit to the Association of Past Presidents-General in Anambra State (APPAS), which was held in Awka.
Speaking at the event, Umeadi who was accompanied by the members of his campaign team said that APPAS was the first grass root group to endorse his presidential ambition.
On the issue of corruption and insecurity which is currently plaguing the country, he said that the triple banner of rule of law, separation of power and due process must be employed for good governance to be realised.
Prof. Umeadi who described himself as the face of APGA in Nigeria recalled how the political party started political journey in Nigeria, adding that APGA is the identity through which the south east would use to actualize its desire for Nigerian presidency.
In his remark, the National President of APPAS, Chief Omeife-Omeife, said that they were happy to welcome Prof. Umeadi in their midst and also recounted the efforts of the association in convincing him to run for the office of Nigerian president.
According to him, the South East group of APPAS would put into consideration the request of the APGA presidential candidate for support.
In his own contribution, a past president General of Umunze, Brother Chris Amah, affirmed that it is the turn of the south east to produce the president of Nigeria and said that Prof. Umeadi of APGA has paid his dues in Anambra State as one time Chief Judge of the state.
