The Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) is considering giving two free Automatic Digital Training Courses for newly registered SMEs to aid their speedy growth.
The Head Media of CAC, Rasheed Mahe, said the Registrar-General/Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of CAC, Alhaji Garba Abubakar, gave this indication while recently receiving the Group CEO of Sapphital, Amu Ogbeide, in his office.
The training, which would be in partnership with Messrs Sapphital, would also aim to improve the SMEs and increase their competence as business owners.
Some of the courses to be prioritized under the SME Digital Academy include: Basic Marketing and Sales Techniques, Introduction to Basic Book-Keeping for SMEs, Networking Skills-Building Relationships for Success and Micro Insurance and Takaful for Small Business, amongst others.
Alhaji Garba Abubakar said such trainings were being offered to SMEs after formalization by some registries across the globe.
The RG therefore assured that a joint team would soon work out modalities to ensure speedy take-off of the programme.
Earlier, the Group CEO of Sapphital, Amu Ogbeide, said they were at the Commission to, amongst others, solicit for partnership over the SME Digital Academy project.
Ogbeide highlighted that the Academy was launched in November 2020 with the aim of educating, elevating and empowering MSMEs.
He added over 70 Online Courses were being offered by the Academy and thousands of trained MSMEs participated in its first virtual graduation ceremony held in April 2021.
Ogbeide further stated that in their continued efforts to ensure MSMEs development, they have so far built no fewer than six academies for the federal government.
He used the forum to applaud the reform initiatives of the Alhaji Garba Abubakar-led CAC.
