Height of insult: El-Rufai says President Jonathan’s supporters are “brainless”

One-time Minister of the Federal Capital territory (FCT) Abuja, Mallam Nasir El-Rufai, was at his abusive best this afternoon when he launched a fresh attack on supporters of President Goodluck Jonathan.

The Congress for Progressive Change (CPC) chieftain who has made abusing President Jonathan a favourite pastime went overboard when he described supporters of the Nigerian leader as “brainless” in a post on Facebook.

The diminutive politician had in the past described Jonathan, Ph.D, as “clueless” but presidential spokesmen vehemently rejected the tag.

Writing shortly after 4pm Nigerian time (about 15 hours GMT), El-Rufai thoroughly abused the President’s supporters in an introductory note before posting the report of the US-based Human Rights Watch (HRW) which alleges massive destruction of Baga, Borno State, by a joint military task force hunting Bioko Haram insurgents.

“Seems like the brainless Jonathanians have never heard of Google Maps and satellite imagery.....This is the statement of Human Rights Watch on the Baga Genocide, along with downloadable maps as evidence,” the former minister wrote before proceeding to publish the HRW report.
El-Rufai is well known for his provocative comments, including on Jesus Christ and his (El-Rufai’s) benefactors, former President Olusegun Obasanjo and ex-Vice President Atiku Abubakar.
