Former Nigerian President, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, has come out publicly to identify himself as n OBIdient – that is, as a supporter of the presidential aspiration of the candidate of Labour Party in the 2023 election, Mr. Peter Obi.

Tweeting from his official handle, @Olusegun_Obj, the elder statesman on July 1, 2022 splashed photos of himself sandwitched between Peter Obi and his running mate, Dr. Yusuf Datti Baba-Ahmed.

Obasanjo endorsed the Obi-Datti ticket, expressing confidence that it would make Nigeria great again if given the mandate by Nigerians during the February 2023 ballot. “Nigeria on the path to revitalization”, he wrote as caption to the photos.

The photos were taken when OBJ, as he is fondly called, received Obi and Datti-Ahmed the previous day at his residence in Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital.

Also present and captured in the photos was the Senior Pastor of Trinity House, Ituah Ighodalo, a social justice activist.

Another familiar face in the photos was Obi’s ally and a former United Nations official, Oseloka Obaze.
