Fresh facts emerged on Monday that the crisis rocking the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in Imo state may have deepened with the recognition by the National Working Committee of the party of the faction controlled by Senator Rochas Okorocha, the immediate past governor of the state.

APC, in a letter Monday mandated the Dan-Nwafor-led Exco to take over the party’s Secretariat with immediate effect.

The letter dated June15, 2022, signed by the National Secretary of APC, Senator Iyiola Omisore, addressed to Daniel Nwafor, as the State Chairman is titled: Reinstatement of the Daniel Nwafor Led Executives.

In the letter made available to News Express, the party said its decision was in compliance with the Supreme Court judgement on the case between APC Vs Evan Enwerem & 2 othhers, “which ordered for the reinstatement of Daniel Nwafor state led Executives of the Party in Imo State.”

Continuing, the letter directed: “You are by this development directed to take possession of the Party Secretariat and as well take charge of all Party activities in the State as the Chairman until the expiration of your tenure on 31^stJuly 2022.”

Following the restoration of the former executives of the party that has been in tango with Governor Hope Uzodimma, it is feared that fresh crisis might break out in Imo APC.
