The Labour Party of Nigeria has named Doyin Okupe as the Vice Presidential Candidate to the party’s 2023 flag bearer, Peter Obi, “but in a placeholder capacity to beat the Friday deadline set by INEC”.

This was announced via a tweet from the party’s official handle this Friday evening, June 17, 2022.

Okupe is the Director-General of Peter Obi Campaign Organisation.

Labur Party had raised hopes with a tweet on Thursday asking Obi’s supporters to await a big announcement today on his running mate.

It tweeted: “Obidients are you ready!! for the big announcement.
