The Nigerian Air Force Hospital, established in Dalori to cater for the healthcare needs of internally displaced persons (IDPs), has commenced operations.

Director of Public Relations & Information, Air Commodore Dele Alonge, said in a statement issued in Abuja: “Located at the outskirt of Maiduguri, the hospital is part of humanitarian activities by the NAF to alleviate the sufferings of victims of the Boko Haram Terrorists’ activities in North Eastern Nigeria through the provision of adequate Medicare.

By United Nations standard, the 50-bed hospital is a level-2 hospital comprising of accident and emergency suite, out-patient consulting suite, in-patient facilities for at least 36 patients including Male, female and pediatric section.

It also has an operating theater, a radio-diagnostic suite, a dental unit, an eye unit, medical laboratory and in /out patient pharmaceutical sections.

The hospital is also equipped with facilities for in-patient catering, health information/records, central sterile supply unit and a maternity section.”

Alonge added that the newly established NAF Hospital is in fulfillment of the promise made by the Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Sadique Baba Abubakar during his first visit to the Dalori IDP Camp in August 2015.
