Imo State Government has assured members of Owerri Tyre Dealers’ Association of adequate accommodation at the Avu Mechanic Village in line with the vision of Governor Rochas Okorocha’s administration to relocate all artisans to a conducive place.
This assurance was given by Secretary to the Government of Imo State (SGI), Sir Jude Ejiogu, on Thursday, when members of the association paid him a courtesy visit in his Cabinet Office, along Sam Mbakwe road, Owerri.
Sir Ejiogu reminded the group that since His Excellency, Governor Rochas Okorocha has approved the relocation of all Mechanics and Auto Allied dealers to Avu Mechanic Village in Owerri West local Government Area, there is need to carry everyone along to make their business thrive.
The SGI disclosed that when the Avu Mechanic Village is finally actualised, the place would accommodate banks, ultra-modern halls, eateries, hospitals and other necessary social amenities geared towards ameliorating their sufferings which they experienced in their previous locations.
Speaking on behalf of his members, Chairman of the association, Mr. Osuorie Collins applauded the SGI for his remarkable track records in the past, which he said earned him the position of Secretary to the Government of the state, while pleading with him to do everything within his capacity carry their members along in the relocation.
