A forum of All Progressives Congress stakeholders in 18Vandeikya Local Government Area, on Friday urged the Benue Government to strengthen security in the area for peace to thrive.

This was contained in a communique signed by its Chairman, Alhaji Aseer Ihongu and made available to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Makurdi.

It stated that the government must ensure peace to fast track social and economic development of the area.

The forum disassociated itself from ‘recent attacks’' on the administration of Gov. Samuel Ortom by one of its members, Alhaji Abubakar Tsav.

According to the stakeholders, the attacks are unwarranted, provocative, unreasonable and unpardonable.

It said that the APC stakeholders had met with Tsav to prevail on him to channel his criticisms of the administration through appropriate communication channels.

The stakeholders restated their confidence in the administration and their resolve to support the governor to deliver on his pledges to the electorate.

It urged members of the party to respect the party hierarchy and channels of communication. (NAN)
