Gbajabiamila mourns Lagos accident victims, wants drivers’ negligence criminalised

Senate House Majority Leader, Honorable Femi Gbajabiamila, representing Lagos Central Senatorial District, has reacted vehemently against the accident in Lagos, which had yesterday claimed some human lives, saying the tragedy was avoidable.

When he took to his Tweeter page, he said: “The tragedy that occurred in my constituency when a trailer fell over a bridge, crushing people to an untimely death was avoidable.”

He attributed the catastrophe to the negligence and careless attitude of drivers, explaining that “the act of negligence of trailer drivers in the country must be criminalised, and drivers should be held accountable for it.”

Gbajabiamila had admitted that “it was about time for legislation that would put an end to such occurrences in the future.”

He prayed that the soul of the departed would rest in perfect peace.
