Flood hits four LGAs in Kebbi

At least four Local Government Areas in Kebbi State have been submerged by flood after a heavy rainfall.

Sources close to the state government say the affected local government areas are Argungun, Augie, Suru and Kamba Local Governments.

There are no reports of casualties and residential areas were largely spared, but large areas of farmlands were washed away by the flood.

Kebbi is one of the states which the Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NIMET) has forecast would experience heavy rains and flooding.

The National Emergency Management Agency NEMA) is yet to comment on the issue, but the state government is said to be planning assistance to the affected farmers. (Channels TV)
