Primate Ayodele
By PAMELA EBOH, Awka
The Leader of INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, Primate Elijah Ayodele, has warned in-coming Governor, Professor Charles Soludo, not to leave the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) if he wants to run a second term in office as Anambra State Governor.
The Primate, meanwhile, predicted that there will be a heated fight between the outgoing governor, Willie Obiano, and his successor, Soludo, adding that the heat of the fight will push Soludo to consider dumping the party.
He revealed that apart from the big fight, there will also be internal and external challenges for the former Central Bank Governor.
Primate Ayodele in a statement signed by his media aide, Osho Oluwatosin, said: “The crisis between them will be too much and will lead to Soludo threatening to exit their party, the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA.
“There will be internal and external challenges for him as governor of the state but he shouldn’t leave the party.”
Primate Ayodele also revealed that they won’t want to avail him (Soludo) with the power of a party leader as the governor of the state.
He further advised the governor-elect to perform well in his first term so he can have a smooth second term in office.
The Primate added: “The governor-elect of Anambra State, Charles Soludo will have issues with the outgoing governor, Willie Obiano. They will fight each other to the extent of the governor-elect threatening to leave their party, APGA.
“No matter the crisis, I want to advise Charles Soludo not to leave the party else he will be disgraced and not have a second term as governor of Anambra state.
“He will face challenges; internal and external but he shouldn’t leave APGA. They won’t want to give him the power as a party leader despite being the state governor but he shouldn’t leave.
“I also advise him to perform well in his first term to have a smooth second term in office.”
