Last Sunday evening during a meeting of the stakeholders of the ruling party in Akwa Ibom State, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) at the State House, Uyo, Governor Udom Emmanuel took many by surprise as he presented a church pastor and one of the newest members of his cabinet as his preferred successor come May 29, 2023.

And that governor in-the-waiting is none other than Pastor Umoh Eno, the present Commissioner for Lands and Water Resources in the state.

Pastor Umoh Eno is A pastor, entrepreneur and politician. He is the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Visionary Group. He was born on May 10, 1964.

Pastor Eno attended University of Uyo where he obtained a Bachelor’s degree and a Master’s degree in Public Administration.

He started his career with Union Bank in 1982. He joined Bertola Machine Tools in 1985 and later Norman Holdings Limited in 1990, all in Lagos. In 1997, he left Norman Holdings Limited as Group General Manager to start his own business, Royalty Group.

Pastor Umoh Eno is a successful businessman. He is the CEO of Royalty Group, a conglomerate with businesses across hospitality, manufacturing and oil and gas sector. He was the chairman of the Akwa Ibom Hotels and Tourism Board from 2004 to 2007 and a two-time Paul Haris Fellow of the Rotary Club of Eket District 9140.

Eno was appointed the Commissioner for Lands and Water Resources by Governor Udom Emmanuel in October 2019.

Eno is also a pastor with All Nations Christian Ministry International.

He is married to Pastor (Mrs) Patience Eno with six children. He is from Nsit Ubium in Akwa Ibom State.

In January 2022, Eno declared his interest to run for the Akwa Ibom State governor.

On Sunday January 30, 2022, Governor Emmanuel presented him to PDP stakeholders in the state, as his preferred candidate to succeed him as the governor.
