Senator George Akume Contact Team has visited Niger State to seek the support of All Progressives Congress (APC) faithful to actualise Senator George Akume’s national chairmanship aspiration.

The team was led by Senator Jack Gyado, who described Akume as someone that has the requite experience, credentials and the quality to place the party on the right path.

He noted that Akume is a retired Permanent Secretary, a two-term Governor, a three-term Senator and now a serving Minister “who possesses the pedigree to consolidate on the party’s achievements.”

Gyado further noted that Akume has greatly contributed to the formation and successes recorded by APC.

He stated that Governor Abubakar Sani Bello has a vital role to play in ensuring that the APC National Chairmanship position is zoned to North-Central.

He applauded Governor Sani Bello for the achievements he has recorded in piloting the affairs of Niger State for about seven years.

Addressing the team, Governor Sani Bello said that he remains committed and resolute in seeing that the party retains it victory space at all levels.

He explained that the North-Central Zone deserves the APC national chairmanship position.

The governor expressed concern over how North-Central Zone has been marginalised and unfairly treated in terms of infrastructural development.
