Nasarawa State Government has commenced the distribution of fertilizers to farmers at a subsidised rate of N3, 360 per bag.
This is contained in a statement issued on Wednesday in Lafia by Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Agriculture and Water Resources, Mr. Naphthali Dachor.
According to the statement, the commodity was being sold at a subsidised rate of N3, 360 per bag to farmers across the 13 local government areas and 18 development areas.
Dachor said that 42,000 bags, comprising 70 trucks of assorted fertilizers were procured by the government for farmers for the 2015 cropping season.
He said each local government and development area was allocated two trucks each for onward distribution to farmers in their respective areas.
Dachor appealed for understanding over the delay in the distribution of fertilizers for the 2015 farming season.
He called for tolerance between farmers and herdsmen to ensure adequate food production in the state. (NAN)
