The Governor of Nasarawa State, Tanko Al-Makura, has called for increased communal surveillance and a strong legal framework to punish militant groups across Nigeria.
Governor Al-Makura made the statement On Tuesday while addressing journalists at a security forum in Abuja.
He, however, said that such measures would help curb criminality in the communities.
Nasarawa State had its share of militancy when a group known as the Ombatse militants terrorised the state two years ago.
Governor Al-Makura, nonetheless, said he looked forward to a time when those behind the killing of over 90 police officers in the state would be punished. (Channels TV)
