CMDs appeal to striking resident doctors

The Committee of Chief Medical Directors of Federal Tertiary Hospitals, has appealed to striking Resident Doctors in the 42 tertiary hospitals across the country to return to work.

After the committee’s closed door meeting in Abuja, the Chairman of the Committee, Mr. Peter Alabi told Channels Television that the industrial action has affected the hospital as majority of them are unable to perform optimally since the strike.

Mr. Alabi, who is also the Chief Medical Director of the University of Abuja Teaching Hospital, also affected by the strike, called on the doctors to call off the strike as government was already taking steps to address their demands.

The committee also appealed to the Federal Government to release funds to address the financial exigency in the sector. (Channels TV)
