Kogi State Governor, Idris Wada, has inspected the Ganaja and Otokiti dual carriage way in Lokoja, the state’s capital, which is still under construction.
Governor Wada, who was accompanied to the construction venue by some top government officials and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) members on Friday, said that the road would accord his administration the opportunity to build a new Lokoja town.
The governor, on arriving at the construction site, was taken round by the Commissioner for Works, Mr Godwin Onama, who disclosed that in few days to come, two kilometers of the road would be laid with asphalt overlay for the Governor to inspect.
Governor Wada, while thanking the contractors for a good job done so far, stressed the necessity of the road to commuters and Lokoja residents, he noted that the road is strategic and would help in diverting traffic and also help the township road to last longer.
The road was awarded to the contractors on February 10, 2014 with the aim of reducing huge traffic flow within Lokoja metropolis. (Channels TV)
