An unidentified helicopter has plunged into the lagoon behind Oworonsoki Police Station in Lagos, South-West Nigeria.
An eyewitness said the incident occurred at about 3pm. The chopper was coming from the Ikeja axis of the state when it made a loud noise before nose-diving into the Oworonsoki end of the Lagos Lagoon.
Four bodies have been recovered from the scene of the crash. Twelve people were on board the chopper but only six survived the crash. The two remaining passengers are yet to be found.
Officials of the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) in conjunction with the police and locals recovered the bodies during rescue operations.
