50 feared dead as Boko Haram bombs Borno market

A bomb explosion has killed many people at the Sabon Gari market in Damboa Local Government of Borno State in Nigeria’s troubled North-East.

The bomber chose the market day to strike. A report by Channels TV quoted eyewitnesses as putting the number of those killed in the blast at no less than 50, with many others injured.

“Reports say a suspected Boko Haram agent planted an Improvised Explosive Device in the market,” Channels said.

“Officials are yet to confirm the incident,” it added.
