The Federal Special Anti-Robbery Squad (FSARS) Annex, Adeniji-Adele, Lagos, says it arrested 25 persons who were allegedly involved in armed robbery and other violent crimes in July.
The Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of FSARS, DC Boniface Onyeabo, made the disclosure to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Friday in Lagos.
According to Onyeabo, other crimes committed by the suspects include alleged murder and kidnapping.
He said that nine vehicles, arms and ammunition were recovered from them.
He added that 12 of the cases had been charged to court, while others were still at the investigation stage.
The DC said that the suspects were arrested in Lagos, Edo, Kogi Delta, Benue and River states.
Onyeabo said that officers of the unit were out to ensure that suspected criminals did not have easy operations in any part of the country, particularly in South-West, South-South and South-East. (NAN)
