The Peoples Democratic Party, (PDP) has explained why it decided to invite the Police and other security operatives to guard its national headquarters in Abuja.

This, according to the leadership of the party, is to prevent its headquarters from being attacked by hoodlums.

Speaking in an interview with Channels Television, the PDP National Director of Administration, Mr. Gurama Bawa, said that the presence of security operatives at the secretariat was to maintain the safety of both staff and property.

He claimed that the party possesses security reports indicating that there were plans to attack the staff and some party officials at its headquarters.

The Director noted, however, that there had been peace and order in the secretariat and workers were going on with their work peacefully. (Channels TV)
