Valentine Chineto Ozigbo
The governorship candidate of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Mr. Valentine Chineto Ozigbo held a grand rally on Tuesday in Awka with PDP governors in attendance vowing to do what they can to make him win.
The Chairman of Valentine Ozigbo national campaign Council Chief Okezie Ikpeazu who led others urged Anambra voters to support Ozigbo because he is humble and can be trusted.
He chided Anambra people for being in an alternative political party saying the cream of Nigeria cannot be backwards.
Also speaking,Governor of Delta State, Ifeanyi Okowa, said the recently conducted national convention of PDP which produced new leaders of the party has sent clear signal that the party is ready to take back Nigeria.
Okowa urged the the people to be courageous and take back what belongs to them.
For Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo state, Saturday’s election is a choice for the best.
He said that for Anambra this is the time to bind together and youths must take front seat to elect their governor.
Makinde pledged to support and consolidate with the people.
Deputy governor of Edo state, Philip Shuabu who represented his boss appealed to the youths to take their destiny in their own hands.
In his speech, former governor of Anambra State Mr. Peter Obi urged the voters to take back their state which he said has collapsed.
Obi lamented that the state has remained where he left it with roads and other amenities gravely neglected, while the state owes more than N120billion in debt.
He said the television debate in which Ozigbo and two others participated on Monday showed clearly that Ozigbo is ahead of others and should be given maximum support.
In his speech after receiving the party flag from the representative of the national chairman of the party, Ozigbo pledged to implement his manifesto if elected into office.
He said the rate at which supporters if other political parties decamp to PDP is a sign of what to come.
According to him, everyone in the state is angry and wanted something new and that he will give Anambra a new life if he becomes governor.
Several PDP stalwarts spoke among them Senator Ndi Obi, Senator Uche Ekwunife,Prof. A. B. C. Nwosu as well as state chairman of the party Chief Ndubisi Nwobu canvassed support for Ozigbo at the occasion
