BREAKING: Ibe Kachikwu is new NNPC GMD •Danbatta replaces Juwah at NCC

President Muhammadu Buhari has appointed Dr. Emmanuel Ibe Kachikwu as the new Group Managing Director (GMD) of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC). He takes over from Dr. Joseph Thlama Dawha.

Dr. Kachikwu was until his appointment Executive Vice Chairman and General Counsel of Exxon-Mobil (Africa). He is also a media proprietor, publishing the trail-blazing HINTS romance magazine.

A First Class Graduate of Law from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka and the Nigerian Law School, Dr. Kachikwu also has Master’s and Doctorate Degrees in Law from Harvard Law School, USA. He started his working career with the Nigerian/American Merchant Bank before moving on to Texaco Nigeria Limited from where he joined Exxon-Mobil.

President Buhari today also removed Dr. Eugene Juwah, Executive Vice Chairman and Chief Executive of the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC). He handed the job to Professor Umaru Garba Danbatta.
