Musician sleeps on Third Mainland Bridge to protest low patronage of his new song

Singer and songwriter, Oludipe Oluwasanmi David, professionally known as Spyro

Talented singer, songwriter and entrepreneur, Oludipe Oluwasanmi David, known professionally as Spyro, did the unthinkable during the week.

The artiste who refers to himself as Christ Ambassador, was found sleeping comfortably on the Third Mainland Bridge in Lagos, purportedly in protest for not having enough streams on his new single titled, “Irreplacement”.

In a viral video, some people see the Lagos State-born artiste coming down from his neatly parked car on the bridge, he spreads blue coloured loin cloth and lies on it.

On moving closer, one of the observers recognises him and says in surprise: “Aah! Don’t you know him? He is a musician by name Spyro.”

When they asked the University of Ibadan graduate why he would lie down on such a busy bridge where vehicles are moving at high speed every moment of the day, he said while still on ground:

“Just let me be. What do you expect me to do when you people have refused to download my new song which I have dropped?”

He was however persuaded to have a change of heart.

Commenting on the incident, a fan said: “This guy actually has nice songs sha. I don’t know why he never blow yet. But jokes apart.”

Another fan corroborated: “He is a very talented artiste, and the song is amazing.”

Spyro started his musical career at a very tender age in secondary school, beginning in a church choir.

Choosing Usher and R Kelly as his mentors which can be noticed in music style, he started off as an independent artist and has remained so.

Born on Nigeria’s Independence Day October 1, Spyro’s other songs are “Funke”, “Japa”, “For You”, “Gunshot”, and “Short Dick Man”.
