Star actor, John Ikechukwu Okafor, popularly known as Mr Ibu
On Sunday October 17, foremost actor and comedian, John Ikechukwu Okafor, popularly known as Mr. Ibu turned 60.
The father of three from Enugu State considered to be one of Nigeria’s most talented and highly paid comic characters was well celebrated by his colleagues in the make believe industry.
Since Sunday, encomiums have continued to pour in for the former hairstylist and photographer who did menial jobs so he could sponsor himself to school and support his family before he became a celebrated actor.
One of such hearty greetings came from the body of all Nollywood actors, the Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN).
In a post on AGN official Instagram page, the actors wrote: “Happy 61st (sic) birthday anniversary to a legend @realmribu, a veteran and prolific actor.
“Onbehalf of the Guild, we celebrate with you on the occasion of your birthday. Thank you for your enormous contribute to the growth of the Guild and the entire Nollywood industry.
“May God continue to keep, protect and bless you. May His face always shine upon you and your household in Jesus’name. Amen. Cheers to more years of celebration.”
