The Bayelsa State Youth Coalition of the All Progressive Congress (APC) has made a strong case for the candidature of Chief (Hon.) Diekivie Ikiogha as the standard flag bearer of the party during the forthcoming governorship election scheduled to take place on December 5.

In a press statement signed by its National President, Dr. Kenneth Lawson Osobugha, the youth body affirmed the potentials of Chief Diekivie Ikiogha. It therefore urged the party “to consider these outstanding qualities of this great Bayelsa son in ensuring that he clinches the party’s governorship ticket as he stands as one of Bayelsa’s best who will clinch victory for the party ahead of the opposition PDP.”

According to the coalition, “As a seasoned administrator and with several years in politics, Chief Ikiogha has proved his mettle as one with the leadership skills to change the face of Bayelsa in line with the yearnings and aspirations of the good people of the state, at an auspicious moment as this in the history of our country.

“The group further stated that the humility exemplified by this astute politician, in spite of several feats achieved and heights attained, is the needed character and content for the next governor of Bayelsa state. It extolled the sterling qualities of Chief Ikiogha which has over the years endeared him to the hearts of the masses and leaders alike. His highly principled nature and strong belief in Christian tenets all form the bedrock of the new face of leadership needed at the Creek Haven, which is the CHANGE that we seek to enthrone.”

The coalition called on the APC leadership, “as well as its teeming members to seize this golden opportunity to support this clarion call, in order to reciprocate the CHANGE being brought about by President Muhammadu Buhari.”
