Imo State Governor, Owelle Rochas Okorocha, has expressed heartfelt condolences to the family of late sage Obafemi Awolowo and the management of Tribune newspapers over the death, last night, of Chief Oluwole Awolowo.
In a statement signed by his Special Assistant on Media, Ebere Uzoukwa, Gov. Okorocha described Chief Oluwole, who until his death was the Publisher of Tribune newspapers, as a patriotic Nigerian and entrepreneur who showed exemplary commitment in sustaining the legacies of his late father.
He further described Wole’s death as a big blow to the media industry considering his outstanding contribution and a great loss to the Yorubas and Nigeria as a nation.
“It is a thing of sorrow that we have again lost a patriotic Nigerian, an entrepreneur per excellence and somebody who exhibited an exemplary commitment in sustaining the legacies of the late father, Chief Obafemi Awolowo. His death is indeed a big blow to the media industry and a great loss to the Yorubas and Nigeria as a nation,” Gov. Okorocha said.
The governor, however, prayed God to grant the family the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.
