The Goge Africa duo, Isaac and Nneka Moses
Presenter, fashion designer, and co-founder/CEO of the African cultural show, Goge Africa, Nneka Isaac Moses, has disclosed that her first outing with her husband, Metche Isaac Moses, was a big disappointment to her.
According to the English Language and Literature graduate from the University of Lagos, on their first date, she had dressed cute, expecting to be taken to a highbrow restaurant, only for her to find herself in a “Mama Put” (local eatery) somewhere in Surulere, Lagos.
Was she disappointed?
Here her in a post she shared on Thursday to celebrate their marriage anniversary:
“Our first date was a disappointment to me. @metcheisaacmoses took me to Amala Shitta when I’m dressed for dinner at a tush restaurant.
“But then, my guy was true to himself and to me. He didn’t want to set standards he couldn't maintain at the time, just to impress me.
“That honesty and sincerity helped me to form the bedrock of the relationship we have today.”
Nneka co-founded Goge Africa in 1999, alongside her husband Isaac, three years after their marriage.
The programme was first aired on October 1, to coincide with Nigeria’s Independence Day. It is viewed by over 40 million people syndicated in 15 channels.
The Goge Africa team has been to over 32 countries in Africa.
Nneka gave birth to their son Kamamra 13 years after marriage.
