In today’s Nigeria where there pervades some hopelessness about the direction many youths are heading, seeking to instill a positive vision and attitude for young ones can seem too much of an uphill task. However, for Earnest Igiehon, President of Nobles Foundation International, the gravity of youths’ social vices demands meaningful actions in order to redirect the hearts of youths towards more positive lives, and that is a task he is undertaking with zeal.
He is youthful and driven, organising seminars on youths’ empowerment and education through his foundation, which is a non governmental body dedicated to improving the lives of young men and women worldwide.
Igiehon, whose public speaking engagements have taking him to several cities, schools and halls of the country, has written a book titled ‘Nation Building’, an interesting and instructive work that speaks and counsels youths on issues that relate to their human, social, spiritual and business development.
“My book takes a holistic look at youths and their potentials to build a stronger Nigeria. There are impediments to do this, fostered by their bad personal decisions and negative influences from people in top positions who should have been better guides to the younger ones. The book speaks to the youths on how to discover their real, better self,” Igiehon told News Express.
The 105-page book is divided into three chapters covering topics such as: ‘The importance of passion, vision, and patriotism towards nation building’, ’Remedies for social vices’ and ‘Message to politicians, potential politicians and others.’
There is religion running in Igiehon’s blood, and this is reflected in his book. There are lots of references to The Bible and God in the passages. “We need God in our lives. The Bible teaches timeless lessons that our younger generation need,” he opines.
As president of Nobles Foundation International’s Nigeria branch, Igiehon says his desire is to continue to work tirelessly to make sure that social vices among Nigerian youths are reduced to the barest minimum.
He says his organisation’s long-term goals are to provide training for youths on practical working skills, as well as to aid the socially-challenged with materials for starting a new life, as well as providing other rehabilitation services for
