Brigadier-General P.T. Boroh (rtd.) is the new Coordinator of the Amnesty Programme for former Niger Delta militants, the Presidency announced last night.
His appointment has been approved by President, Muhammadu Buhari, Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Mr. Femi Adesina, said in a statement issued in Abuja.
Boroh replaces Mr. Kingsley Kuku, who was handed the position by erstwhile President Goodluck Jonathan. The appointment takes immediate effect, Adesina said.
“The appointment of a new Coordinator for the Amnesty Programme is expected to lead to the speedy resolution of recent hitches in its implementation such as the non-payment of outstanding allowances to ex-militants,” the Presidential Spokesman added.
