Rangers Int’l FC of Enugu coach, Imama Amapakabo, said on Monday that the Nigeria Premier Football League has improved when compared to previous years.
Amapakabo told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Enugu that the just-concluded first round of the league was an improvement because clubs and match officials performed well.
His words: “The first round of the league has shown a lot of improvements. We have recorded 19 away wins and 34 draws. It is unprecedented in the history of the league.
“This shows that the league is beginning to improve. Also, Super Sports has been showing the matches live and people are now watching the Nigerian league.
“It is really great and this will make clubs to put in their best in every game,” he said.
Amapakabo, a former keeper with Sharks FC of Port Harcourt, said the second round of the league would be tough because there were at least 19 matches to be played and many clubs stood the chance to top the table.
“Rangers will put in their best in the second round. With 19 matches to go, all clubs have good chances of making it to the top.”
Amapakabo said that Rangers would not underrate any team and were determined to make a mark in this year`s football season.
He urged the club’s fans to continue to support them because the team was poised to win a trophy this year. (NAN)
