Members of the Nigerian Automobile Technicians Association (NATA) have commended Secretary to the Government of Imo State, Sir Jude Ejiogu, for his experience in conflict resolution, which according to them, led to the peaceful negotiation with Avu people to relocate auto mechanic practitioners to the area.

The group made this commendation yesterday while on a thank you visit to him in his Cabinet office, along Sam Mbakwe Road, Owerri.

Speaking on behalf of the group, Chairman of NATA, Comrade Kyrian Nnadi, expressed happiness that despite several failed attempts to relocate their members to Avu community in the past as a permanent site, the Secretary to the Government of Imo State, Sir Jude Ejiogu has finally made it possible for them by liaising with relevant authorities in the area, describing him as a leader per excellence.

They maintained that the relocation of their members would go a long way to alleviate the sufferings of Imo people, appealing to the state government to create more sub-mechanic villages within the outskirts of the state capital to complement with the central point at Avu, in Owerri West LGA, while expressing their unalloyed support to Governor Rochas Okorocha-led rescue mission administration in the state.

Responding, Secretary to the Government of Imo State, Sir Jude Ejiogu expressed joy on their visit to appreciate the state government efforts to bring all their members together, also urged them to continue to remain united in the discharge of their duties.

He called on them to be law abiding and shun any act capable of disintegrating their association, as according to him the rescue mission government in the state would do everything possible to achieve the vision of ‘Imo My Pride’.

Sir Ejiogu thanked the good people of Avu community for making the relocation possible for the state government, saying that the project would not only bring economic growth to the area but was capable of engaging their youths in meaningful businesses, while appealing to anyone that would be moved to the village to respect the custom and tradition of the people of the area to avoid misunderstanding with the host community.
