Police in Gombe State, North-East Nigeria, late last night confirmed the death of several people in multiple bomb explosions at the Dadinkowa Motor Park in Gombe metropolis.
The spokesman for Gombe State Police Command, Mr Fwaje Atajiri, made the confirmation in an interview with Channels Television. He, however, did not specify the number of casualties.
Other explosions were also reported to have occurred some hours after the first explosion at the crowded Motor Park.
No group has claimed responsibility for the attack that bore the semblance of past attacks carried out by the Boko Haram terrorist group.
In an attack last week, the Boko Haram sect killed no fewer than 50 people in a twin blast at the rowdy central market of Gombe State.
Confirming the incident, the State Commissioner of Police, Mr Kudu Nma, asserted that the bomb exploded at the central market around the Sabon Layi axis, where they sell slippers and assorted wears.
