Contrary to conflicting opinions among Nigerians over the President Buhari’s visit to President Barack Obama of the U.S, a lawmaker representing Kaduna Central Senatorial District, Senator Shehu Sani of the APC, has admitted that Nigeria needs the support and full backing of the United States of America for her economy and security interests.
He said this on his Twitter handle yesterday, adding that the Buhari’s visit to the State would, in no small measure, help to greatly reset and reactivate Nigeria’s relationship with the U.S, as well as explore areas of interest.
“The U.S as well needs Nigeria for its strategic interest”.
One of the followers of the senator, in reaction, said: “Show me a country America has helped, and I will tell you countries helped by America that are in total mess now. This is the same America that disappointed us when most needed against Boko Haram. Expect a double-edged sword as assistance.”
Senator Sani, during the Sallah celebration, had reportedly distributed 12 camels, eight cows and foodstuff worth over 15 million naira, to seven local government areas under his zone, saying on his Twitter handle, that: “Some shared chickens, some shared rams, some shared goats, some shared cows, some shared pigs, some shared nothing, and I chose to share camels.”
