Governor Henry Seriake Dickson of Bayelsa State has enjoined Muslim faithful in the country to continue to live in peace with the adherents of other religions, noting that all religions are one and important, as his administration will continue to give equal recognition to all of them.
The Governor, who gave the advice in his Sallah message, expressed appreciation to the Moslem community in the State for their prayers, encouragement and support.
While, congratulating them for observing and completing their mandatory Ramadan fast, Governor Dickson encouraged them to see Bayelsa State as home, do their businesses and live peacefully, advising them to work with all security agencies in the state to ensure the sustenance of already existing peace in the state.
“All religious leaders and followers should always preach peace, unity and good neighbourliness. The Bayelsa message of peace, which you have exemplified should be imbibed by all Nigerians”
He also urged them to pray for the peace of the Nation and the success of the Governments at the State and Federal levels, as that is the only way, the Government can bring about the much needed development to all nooks and crannies of the State and Country.
