The Management of Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) says the national grid transmission has recorded a new peak of 4,656 megawatts.
This is contained in a statement signed by the General Manager (Public Affairs) in TCN, Mrs Seun Olagunju which was made available to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Abuja on Thursday.
According to the statement, this peak was reached a few days after the last record of 4,545 megawatts was attained on July 13.
It reported that the new peak was attained at 10.00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 15.
The statement said that the previous peak of the power transmission was 4,517 megawatts which was attained on Dec. 23, 2012.
It added that power generation and transmission had been above 4000 megawatts due to improvement in gas supply to the generating stations.
The statement also said that improvement in equipment/infra-structure upgrade and enhanced human capacity of system operators contributed to the progress.
The management of TCN assured its customers that it would continue to work to enhance the capacity to transmit more quality power to the distribution companies. (NAN)
