The Police on Tuesday arraigned a driver, Michael Obinna, in a Grade 1 Area Court in Kado, Abuja, for alleged criminal trespass and theft.
Obinna, 29, a resident of Gosu on Airport road, who was arraigned for trespass and theft, was said to have been captured by a CCTV camera while allegedly committing the crime.
The Prosecutor, Simon Ibrahim, told the court that one Mrs Nwazurike Chinwe of Suit F7, 3rd floor, ABM Plaza, Utako, Abuja, reported the matter at the Utako Police Station on Feb. 25.
Ibrahim told the court that the accused on the same date criminally trespassed into Suit F7 and stole two HP laptops as well as an android phone, all valued at N250, 000.
He further claimed that the accused confessed to the crime during police investigation.
The accused, however, pleaded not guilty.
The judge, Malam Abubakar Sadiq, granted the accused bail in the sum of N100,000 and a surety in like sum.
Sadiq said the surety must be a civil servant on at least Grade Level 6 who must also reside within the court’s jurisdiction.
He adjourned the case till Aug 10. (NAN)
