Cleric seeks divine intervention on Kogi high crime rate

Rev. Peter Afolabi of Redeemed Christian Church of God, Lokoja, has sought for divine intervention over the spate of kidnappings and robberies in Kogi.

In his sermon entitled ``God's Judgment On Crime Offenders’’, Afolabi said repercussion awaited the wicked ones.

He said there were severe punishments for people who committed crimes, as no sinner would go unpunished.

He added that ``the rate at which wickedness had taken over the hearts of men was alarming. The children of God should embrace peace in order to be united with God.’’

Afolabi said that the recent kidnappings and robberies in the state called for fervent prayers and urged the Church to always seek the face of God over the wellbeing of the state.

He urged residents to be vigilant at all times and to be one another's keepers, praying that God would restore peace to the North East soon. (NAN)
