The immediate past member of Kaduna State House of Assembly, representing Chikun Constituency, Hon Maikudi Tanko, had a brief encounter with kidnappers who abducted him but later released him.
Family sources who spoke to our correspondent on phone said he was kidnapped around 2:00 p.m. yesterday at his farm near NYSC camp along Kaduna/Abuja road.
"He was later released after the kidnappers carted away N1 million they saw in his possession. He is with us receiving sympathisers right now," a family source confirmed
Calls to Commissioner of Police, Umar Shehu Ambursa and the command spokesperson, DSP Zubairu Abubakar were unsuccessful.
