Former Head of State Muhammadu Buhari, immediate past Lagos State Governor Bola Tinubu and the incumbent, Babatunde Fashola, top the list of potential candidates for the 2015 Nigerian presidential election published by the emergent mega opposition party, the All Progressives Congress (APC).

The list of nine names listed in a survey on the party’s Facebook page comprises five chieftains of the new party as well as four prominent members of the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Apart from Buhari, Tinubu and Fashola, other APC chieftains on the list are former Kano State Governor Ibrahim Shekarau and former Sokoto State Governor Attahiru Bafarawa.

PDP chieftains on the list are President Goodluck Jonathan, Jigawa State Governor Sule Lamido, Kano State Governor Rabiu Kwankwaso and Niger State Governor Babangida Aliyu.

There is not even a single Igbo name on the list. Governor Rochas Okorocha of Imo State, who has for long nursed presidential ambition, is conspicuously missing from the list despite his commitment to the success of APC, which has brought him criticisms from some of his Igbo kinsmen.  

The survey, uploaded around three hours to midnight yesterday, asks readers to indicate whom they would like to vote for in 2015 among those on the list. The error-filled survey says as follows:
