Governor Peter Obi of Anambra State has strongly condemned last night’s bombing of a popular luxury bus park in Kano, killing about 60 people.
Obi, who heard the shocking news upon arrival in Rome as part of the Federal Government’s delegation to the installation of the Pope Francis I, described the act as “barbaric and condemnable.”
He said that no amount of anger for whatever reasons, rightly or wrongly, could justify settling disputes by bloodletting.
Calling for restrainton the part of those affected, the governor said that he was already in the process of contacting his Kano State counterpart, Governor Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, for more details, since the barbarism took place at Sabon Gari, the home to non-indigenes, especially Igbos.
Obi prayed for the repose of the souls of the affected and for God to continue to grant wisdom to President Goodluck Jonathan as he works tirelessly for the country to overcome her security challenges.
